Tailored Treatment For Lasting Relief

Tinnitus is best described by those who suffer with it, as a ringing, humming, whooshing, or buzzing sounds coming from within your ear. You may have experienced this tinnitus sound briefly when leaving an environment with high levels of noise, such as a concert or nightclub. Often this will go away on its own within a day or two. However, for those who experience this long-term, your daily life can become disrupted.
Tinnitus can make it difficult to concentrate, sleep, and even hear. If your symptoms are affecting your life, it is important to consult with an Audiologist to learn more about possible treatments and solutions. While tinnitus is not always curable, lots of treatments can help to relieve the symptoms.
There are different types of hearing tests that evaluate specific parts of the auditory system. At Hearing@Loftus we conduct a comprehensive diagnostic hearing test assessing the outer, middle and inner ear systems. With these tests the severity and nature of hearing lost can be determined and the Audiologist is able to recommend appropriate management or refer you on to the necessary health care professional.
Pure Tone Audiometry exam carried out in a soundproof booth to identify both the severity and nature of the hearing loss.
